Red Thorn House is our most recently developed service. The home is situated close to the village of Terrington St John, some 5 miles between Kings' Lynn and Wisbech.

Red Thorn House is a spacious detached property comprising of two units; Unit One is a purpose designed self-contained extension comprising of 5 single ground floor bedrooms, 3 of which have en-suite facilities, a shared bathroom for the remaining two rooms, a kitchen/ dining area and reception room. This area is fully wheelchair accessible. Unit Two consists of 3 first floor bedrooms with en-suite facilities, a dining room, kitchen and lounge. Externally the home is served by spacious attractive gardens providing opportunities for relaxation, space and activity as required.

Red Thorn House was established to be able meet the individual needs of service users who may have challenged other services. This may include people with autistic spectrum disorders, behavioural needs, or specialised patterns of living. The admission criteria places importance upon needs being matched so as not to disadvantage any individual. Staffing is provided within the base fee at one staff per two service users; individual staff time may be added to this according to needs. We aim to ensure that we attract and retain experienced members of the staff team who may get to know each individual's idiosyncrasies and provide support. In doing this we ensure that staff are remunerated and trained above locally benchmarked levels to promote consistency

Service users may access external day activity provided from either Kings' Lynn or Wisbech. However Red Thorn House can provide an individualised day service package based from the home but utilizing community based resources. This is available as an additional service subject to separate negotiation.

All the facilities from both homes comply with the National Minimum Standards for Care Homes providing services to adults aged 18 to 65.
